What the work usually includes
- Desktop review: maps, soils, NWI, floodplain, prior permits, Sanborns and agency files when the question is contamination.
- Field work: delineations, listed-species habitat, SAV, cultural coordination when a federal permit triggers it.
- Permit strategy: 404/401, Section 10/408, coastal consistency, NPDES — which path, which district, what the application has to show.
- Documents agencies will actually read: drawings, impact tables, alternatives, mitigation, SWPPP, Phase I ESA.
When you need it
You need it when the answer changes the design or the deal: a wetland on the pad, SAV in the slip, a gopher tortoise burrow on the upland, a REC on a Phase I, or a Corps clock you cannot miss. You do not need a 40-page brochure about sustainability.
